An exhibitor for myriad styles
To further illustrate the breadth of exhibitors, the General Gift temporaries also includes apparel companies such as VIM & VIGR Legwear, which specializes in everyday lifestyle compression socks. The company was founded by a former pharmaceuticals rep in 2013 after she couldn’t find stylish compression socks
for herself.
“Our line is part fashion, part medical device, but mostly fashion,” says VIM & VIGR director of sales Ann Nowak. “It’s a product that fits a lot of different markets. Sitting or standing for more than
90 minutes a day directly affects blood flow. Travelers, pregnant women, nurses and teachers all are our target consumers.”
As part of incorporating companies that previously exhibited
in Building 2 Temps, General Gift is adding new coastal and gardens exhibitors, including JEC Home Goods, a family-owned business in California that designs and produces garden flags and door hangers. “We specialize in selling high-end, quality burlap products to boutique and mom-and-pop stores,” says
JEC Home Goods’ Emilie Tseng. “We take pride in our designs and try not to flood the market with our products. We’re very protective of our buyers.”
Like most exhibitors in General Gift, she’s excited about the kinds of new buyers she’ll see when the company exhibits there for the
first time in July. “We’re hoping to see people we don’t normally get to see in a specific garden section,” she says.
Tseng adds that she hopes to give buyers a nice surprise, which is exactly what many of them manage to find in the General Gift temporaries time and time again. ■
