We recommend maintaining the finish of your outdoor lighting fixtures by periodically cleaning and applying a surface protectant to guard against the effects of time and the elements. We suggest a simple coat of silicone, wax or Formula 6-56, which is available at marine dealers.
Materials used in outdoor lighting fixtures may naturally deteriorate over time, due to exposure to ultraviolet rays, humidity, salt air and environmental pollutants. Some materials are more durable than others, designed to offer improved rust- and corrosion-resistance and better maintain their finish.
