FURNITURE, RUG & HOME ACCENTS
aluminum alloy is resistant to the corrosion from salt spray, so it is durable enough for the heavy-duty use of a beachfront resort. It’s also heavier than many other aluminum offerings – a factor in furnishing rooftop bars and decks.
FUNCTION AND FORM MATTER
Bethanne Matari, public relations representative for
Currey and Company, says an interest in utilities including
outlets and USB ports installed in furniture itself, not just in lamps is a growing priority. “Also, ADA compliant wall sconces are
a big hit with the hospitality buyers we work with,” she says.
But more than any trend, designers of commercial spaces are often looking for customization of color, size or style. “We are able to make large-scale custom fixtures that are great for public spaces, and we can value-engineer or customize our inline lamps for guest rooms,” says Matari.
In many cases, home décor trends in hospitality and residential settings echo each other. “Travelers like to feel like they are at home, and hospitality designers are taking that into account,” says Berk. “The more ornate settings have given way to cleaner, more transitional looks. Sleeker lines, metal materials and bolder finishes and colors have taken over many of the older grandiose and ornate trends.”
